Deer Valley wants to connect Main Street to the Ski Resort

Deer Valley hopes to connect resort to Old Town.

In last Thursdays meeting with the Park City Council, Bob Wheaton, the President and GM of Deer Valley Resort®, shared the plan to increase ski terrain with eight new lifts, which will serve approximately 1,000 acres of new runs. Wheaton also discussed the Berkshire Hathaway Utah Properties listed development at Mayflower (near Jordanelle) and residential communities around the resort. Wheaton confirmed that Deer Valley intends to try to connect the resort directly to Old Town via a Gondola System.

They are reviewing two options, the first involves two connected gondolas; the second would involve a single gondola running between Silver Lake Village and Old Town. Reducing traffic and easy of pedestrian access to Deer Valley® from Historic Old Town are the goals.

There are also potential condos to be built on the parking lots at Snow Park.

For additional information, see the Park Record’s coverage on this meeting.

All three Park City resorts are entering into a phase of expansion. Vail and Deer Valley are certainly planning 10’s of millions of dollars to be spent over the next few years. If you have any real estate interests in our mountain town paradise, please contact Rich Fine, 435-640-2124.
